There's a proverb I've heard since I was young that goes something like, "If you want happiness for a lifetime; help someone else." I always took it at face value to put others before yourself, but looking at the dull plastics on Iron Maiden, it took on a new meaning for me. I realized that due to budget or exhaustion, Stern was not able to deliver a fully-realized experience for the trim on the back of the machine, using boring flat plastics to express the majesty of the Egyptian theme. And so I decided to help more fully realize the look they had only partially finished and set about making an Anubis statuette that was three dimensional.
